Manny enjoys working with people and is well known for bringing his sense of humour and compassion to what are frequently quite stressful situations.

Manny has experience working on appointments of all types and from many industries including manufacturing, hospitality, retail and building & construction. He has also undertaken specific investigations into insolvent trading, unfair preferences and uncommercial transactions and has prepared specialist reports for various stakeholders.

Before working in insolvency, Manny worked in the hospitality industry as a manager in a busy Southbank restaurant for many years. This position provided Manny with first-hand experience of insolvency when the restaurant ended up being placed into voluntary administration. The administration was handled by Jack’s late father, William (Bill) Abeyratne, and for many months Manny assisted the external administrators while they continued trading the business. He must have impressed the administrators as following the end of administration Manny ended up joining the administrator’s insolvency firm!

Bringing a real understanding of insolvency from both sides of the fence, Manny is committed to finding solutions and helping all stakeholders through what can sometimes be a challenging and complex process.
